Mental Health and Psychology

Posted by: admin  :  Category: General

No one knows exactly what causes depression as there isn’t a single identifiable cause. What is known is that genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors can all play a role in triggering a mental health problem in some individuals.

Certainly there are some groups of people who appear to be more at risk than others and this includes the long term sick and disabled, the elderly, the homeless, people in lower socio-economic groups or who live in poor housing, those who are dependent on drugs and alcohol, and those who are in prison.

The thing is, just because you fit into one of these groups doesn’t mean you are likely to develop a mental health problem any more than it means that those who don’t won’t. Depression and other problems affecting mental health don’t discriminate against anyone.
This of course means we cannot predict in advance with any certainty who will or who won’t develop a mental health problem in the future.

How is depression treated?

The most common way of treating depression is by administering anti-depressant medication or referral for some form of psychotherapy or even a combination of both. Given the fact that anti-depressant medication often carries unpleasant side effects, many people would prefer a non-drug approach to their treatment if it’s at all possible and in many cases it is. Indeed, psychotherapy is rapidly gaining recognition as a highly effective treatment for depression.

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy covers a whole range of psychological techniques used to treat depression and other mental health problems. For any form of psychotherapy to be effective, it is vital that the environment is conducive to open discussion and that there is a sense of trust between the therapist and the individual

What happens during a psychotherapy session is that a trained therapist works with the individual, or sometimes a group, to try and understand what the underlying issues are that may be contributing to their mental health problems.

There are also many different approaches adopted by psychotherapists, however, an increasingly common approach recommended by doctors today is cognitive behaviour therapy. Cognitive behaviour therapy focuses on an individual’s behaviour, beliefs, and ways of thinking.

It will often identify any negative thought or behaviour patterns that are not helpful to the individual. By encouraging them to talk openly about how they feel and exploring possible reasons for why they think and behave in a certain way, it is often possible to find coping strategies and new ways of overcoming their difficulties.

Psychology Today – Finding Sound Mental Health and Wisdom Through Dream Therapy

Posted by: admin  :  Category: General

I already give you many lessons about the meaning of dreams and their psychological importance. I basically show you that you are in fact a primate because the biggest part of your brain belongs to the anti-conscience; your wild conscience. You have only a tiny human conscience, which is under-developed. This is why you need the guidance of the unconscious mind.

Your dreams are produced by the wise unconscious mind that has a divine origin and doesn’t belong to your conscience. This fact proves the existence of God, along with many other scientific discoveries made in many different scientific fields. The unconscious mind that produces your dreams is the voice of divine providence.

Your wild conscience (anti-conscience) is a demon. It is a selfish monster, which became schizophrenic after facing only repeated deceptions in life, and ending up in despair. You have only a tiny human conscience that needs development. However, your human conscience has an important mission: it must transform your satanic nature into human nature through sensitivity and wisdom.

You need help. You’ll never manage to win the battle against your violent anti-conscience alone. This is why you must learn dream language. You’ll then understand the unconscious messages contained in the dream images. These messages are secret because your anti-conscience must not understand them. They protect your human conscience from the sneaky attacks of the anti-conscience against you. You are the human being concentrated in the human side of your conscience.

However, you (who must fight against your anti-conscience) are very far from having a balance and sound mental health, even if you believe that you are a normal person. Nobody is normal on Earth. The only exceptions to this rule are the rare saints of human history. Everyone else is absurd and shows abnormal behavior in various circumstances. For example, most people are polite and understanding in their social environment, especially near those they want to influence or conquer. However, when they are alone, or when they are with their close friends, they say the most horrible words against those they pretended to respect and admire.

This behavior is abnormal. Even though today everyone in our world believes that we must be actors, especially near the people we want to influence, this behavior is not healthy. It’s absurd to pretend something for some reason instead of showing the truth. The more we accept being actors in our social environment, the more abnormal our reactions become. This happens because we are controlled by the anti-conscience whenever we agree on doing what is absurd and bad.

This simple example already showed you how far from balance and sound mental health you really are. If I’ll continue describing all the absurdity contained in your behavior this article will become an endless report. You are very easily dominated by your satanic anti-conscience, even if you are not controlled by the anti-conscience all the time.

You must urgently eliminate the dangerous influence of your wild nature. This can be easily done through dream therapy. The unconscious mind will help you acquire complete consciousness. Then, your entire conscience will become human, and you’ll become a genius. You’ll never make mistakes and always evolve, in an endless progressive rhythm.

If you are working towards a career in Psychology and would like to be in a position to help people with their problems and help them to remain in a positive state of mind and provide them with helpful insights into their lives, then you can be sure to be successful in your career as a Mental-Health Counselor.

A Mental-Health Counselor is a trained professional who counsels people – either individually or in groups like couples or families. A Mental-Health Counselor helps generate and promote the best mental-health and well being for his clients.

A Mental-Health Counselor usually adopts a very holistic perspective while helping her clients – she will study the client’s external environment and the influence of the society on his life, and at the same time, she will look at the inner aspects of the client’s psyche like his emotional, behavioral and also the physical health. Thus, a Mental-Health Counselor observes the client in an all-round fashion and then helps the client find the effective balance in his life.

To start working as a Mental-Health Counselor, you would have to start out with a MA, MS or a MSW degree. Typically, these would be two year programs. During this Masters Degree program, you would also be working in an internship where you would be working directly with people. It is after obtaining the Masters Degree that you would be in a position to get your license in your chosen specialty. You can get a license in fields like

Educational, Career and School Counseling,

Rehabilitation Counseling,

Marriage and Family Counseling, and

Substance Abuse Counseling.

As a Mental Health Counselor, you can expect to earn an approximate salary between the range of $36,000 to $61,000 on an annual basis. If you want to develop your own private counseling practice, it usually takes about 5 years after getting your license to be an established Mental-Health Counselor in private practice.

As a Mental-Health Counselor, you would be in the position to help people with a variety of problems which they face in their daily lives. This can include issues like depression, aging, substance abuse or addiction, issues with career, stress, suicide, anger management, relationship problems, marital issues and so on. You will be helping people work their way through these and such related problems in their lives – and thus helping them to stay positive during the different ups and downs they may face during their lives.

Apart from seeing clients (either at your clinic or at their homes), you would also be involved with the completion of risk assessments or mental health evaluations of your clients, providing care and treatment programs for your clients by providing the required documentation and case records to other professionals who are also involved with the client. You will also be required to keep accurate records of your client files, and such other documentation.

Online Psychology: Continuing Education for The Mental Health Professional

Mental health professionals are always looking for ways to expand their sources of knowledge. Today, this often means finding online psychology continuing education courses they can use to not only broaden their own study, but earn credits that could aid them in their careers in a number of ways. Professional development past the point of a base education is a concept growing in popularity not only in the world of mental health, but in fields as diverse as teaching and stock trading. Further learning can lead to higher pay, better strategies, and advancements in your chosen field. There is a wealth of information to be had on the Internet; while not all sources are legitimate, of course, a reputable website can be an even better resource than a textbook, as it is continually updated with new information and debates. Here are some of the methods you can use to further your own betterment.

Online psychology continuing education courses are some of the easiest and most popular ways for a mental health professional to further their studies. These courses offer the busy professional a chance to earn credits and learn at their own leisure, rather than being at the behest of a difficult class schedule. This can make all the difference when it comes to being successful in such a program. These web based classes aren’t limited to any particular area, either. Many community and full universities offer online classes and many will allow enrollment from out of state (though it will probably cost quite a lot more). There are also websites entirely devoted to offering e-courses, which provide another level of home-based learning. Many people find that the schedule-free aspect of this method of learning helps them to pursue knowledge based on personal interest instead of fear of academic penalty, helping them attain a much wider and more solid knowledge base in the field.

One of the most exciting opportunities these days for mental health professionals is the proliferation of online lectures and webinars. These videos and courses allow you to learn at the feet of the giants in the field, without spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars to fly to a big city and see them live. Often, these seminars are at least partially interactive and they provide a good opportunity to network with other interested parties, perhaps offering an additional way to further your career goals and aspirations.

Finally, don’t overlook the importance of furthering your technical knowledge. Online psychology, continuing education courses included, is not immune to advancements in the way people use technology. Keeping up with the latest software and hardware innovations – particularly those which are specifically developed with the mental health field in mind – is essential to developing a thriving practice. There are many forms of software that can help anyone in any form of business streamline their tasks and free up their time. Any automated processes you can put into practice will give you that much more time to develop your professional career.
