I met my good pal, Leanne, back in the early 1990s.
We worked for the same company. She had transferred to Toronto from Vancouver to start the insurance department (or something like that).
I hadn't counted on becoming friends with her.
She is younger than I am and wore skirts and high heels all the time. And she was always always cheerful and smiling!
One of my earliest memories of her after she moved here was asking me if I had anything she could do (her department hadn't officially started). I had a million word (or so it seemed) legal agreement (so you can imagine how exciting that was!) that I needed retyped so ...
But I was nice enough to offer her my Walkman as she typed it. Ha!
And she still wanted to be my friend!
She moved back to Vancouver in the fall of 1997 and I miss her.
A box arrived today with her Christmas presents. Inside was this card and it says "Buddies for life!"
She wrote "Teehee, this card reminds me of the pic of us at ABC Company - remember that one?"
Yep!
She and I had this horrible picture taken of us at the office ... it was so horrible that we thought it was hilarious, though.

Omigosh!!!! I soooo love that pic! It's perfection! Those truly were awesome days. Would that they never changed.

We had some fun hey? From beer and donuts to walking miles and miles for a Zero bar... Not to mention the laughing incident...or the eating cake before we went to eat at Shopsy's..oh, I could go on an on!

And yep Liz, those were great days! I remember them fondly! I especially liked when you and Teena were in the same office and a Great Big Sea song came on and I came in, closed the door and we'd dance around like maniacs! Good times, good times!!

I thought I was going to barf at Shopsy's! I ordered breakfast for lunch that day ... and a piece of ham slid onto my lap. Yuk!

I still giggle madly when I think of the the laughing incident...and yes, I almost got fired! To quote, "Leanne, I don't know what your *bleepin* problem is!!" But oh I couldn't help it...first it was because I looked at you...after that I was just a lost cause!
It was the "I'm going to be on the road 'til December" story with all the gory details yet again that got you laughing.
It's good we can laugh about it now. Ha!
I remember seeing that picture of you and Leanne. That picture does resemble the one on the card!
